If you are like most consumers, you want to know what the difference between the 2019 and 2020 model is. The biggest change for 2020 is that the base LX trim now offers a turbocharged 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine as standard equipment. In addition, the base LX model also gets a bevy of Honda Sensing safety equipment standard.
How About The Cost?
When comparing a new 2019 and 2020 CR-V, the 2020 version is going to cost you approximately $600 more for the LX trim and $200 to $400 for the other trim levels. You’re probably comparing the 2020 to a pre-owned 2019 at this point, so the comparison doesn’t really hold water.
As a general rule, each successive model year of a vehicle is going to cost somewhat more than the previous model year. With the constantly advancing technology inherent in today’s vehicles, it’s inevitable.
So, Which One Is Better?
Ah – the magic question! Again, as a general rule, if you want the latest and greatest technology gadgets then go with the 2020 version of the CR-V. Later model years of vehicles are always going to hold this advantage. The downside, however, is that later model year vehicles also tend to cost more. Of course, the amount of mileage on a vehicle can always change that dynamic, as well.
