You don’t have to go to a party or event on Labor Day to have a blast. In fact, you can have the best Labor Day yet right at home. Check out some fun Labor Day activities you can enjoy with your family.

Have a Cornhole Tournament

Do you enjoy some competition when hanging out with your family? If so, cornhole is the perfect game for you. It doesn’t require any training, and people of all ages can play. You can buy an American Flag cornhole set if you want to add a patriotic element to your backyard. Then, you also have the option of making a cornhole board yourself.

Have a Mini Parade

You can spread some Labor Day cheer by organizing a parade with your family. Dress everyone up in patriotic gear and walk around the neighborhood. You can also let your neighbors know about the parade ahead of time, so they can stand on their lawns and cheer your family as you pass by. Your kids are sure to love performing for the crowds during the parade.

Throw Together a Family Cookout

Labor Day is also an excellent time for a family cookout. Throw some hotdogs and burgers on the grill, and make some baked beans or another dish for the sides. Then, eat your meal in the great outdoors.

If you want to put a smile on your kids’ faces, you can also have some ice cream for dessert. While ice cream out of the carton is delicious, homemade ice cream is even better. You can whip up a batch with an electric ice cream maker. That can turn into a new Labor Day tradition for your family.

Cheer on the Astros

The Astros are having another phenomenal season, and they intend to notch a win on Labor Day. They’ll be taking on the Seattle Mariners at home, so consider cheering them on during your celebration. The game starts at 6:10 p.m. and is sure to be full of excitement. Jose Altuve might even knock one or two out of the park, so that’ll give you a reason to cheer.

Watch a Movie Under the Stars

If you have a projector, you can turn your backyard into a movie theater. Project the film onto a large white sheet, and then get cozy. Consider putting some bean bag chairs out in the yard so everyone can relax during the film.

Go Camping in Your Backyard

The fun doesn’t have to end when it’s time for bed. Pitch a tent in the backyard and go camping. You’ll still have access to the comforts of home, but you can sleep under the stars. This is a fun way to stretch out the Labor Day celebration.

These activities are a sure way to have a memorable Labor Day. Get the entire family involved for a day of fun.
